A Message from Jenna Abbott, Executive Director of CCAH

As the days begin to get a bit shorter, we’re starting to look ahead to the fall and I’m thrilled to share some exciting news. Our Fall Conference at Paradise Point Resort in San Diego is already off to a phenomenal start—as of Friday we had sold over half of our available tickets and our room block was almost full! Are you planning to join us? If so, please register sooner rather than later and let us know that you want to stay at Paradise Point. It’s possible we can secure a larger block if there’s an appetite. We can’t wait to gather with you November 5–7 for what promises to be an inspiring and impactful event.

Early bird registration ends this Friday, 8/15, so visit our Fall Conference Registration Page to secure your spot and join us for three days of learning, networking, and collaboration.

Help Shape the Future of Affordable Housing: Give Us Your Legislative Ideas for 2026

As we prepare for the 2026 legislative cycle, CCAH is actively seeking policy ideas and proposals that can drive meaningful change in affordable housing across California. Whether you’re a developer, advocate, service provider, or local official, your insights are invaluable. What barriers are you facing? What reforms would make a difference in your work?

Please reach out to Paul Shafer (pshafer@californiacouncil.org) with your comments no later than the 15th and help us shape our 2026 advocacy agenda. This is your opportunity to influence the future of housing policy in California—and we’re listening.

Membership Matters—And It Covers Your Whole Company

If you’re not yet a member of CCAH, we’d sure love to have you. Our membership is company-wide, meaning when your organization joins, everyone on your team gains access to our resources, events, and advocacy efforts. From policy updates to networking opportunities, CCAH membership is a powerful tool for staying informed and connected in the affordable housing space.

If your company is already a member please help us grow our community by referring colleagues and partners who would benefit from being part of CCAH. The strength of our network lies in its diversity and reach—and your referrals make a real difference.

Whether you’re attending our conferences, engaging in legislative advocacy, or simply staying informed through our newsletters and updates, your participation helps move the needle. Together, we are building a more equitable and accessible California.

Thank you for being part of our mission to create affordable rental housing in California. I look forward to seeing many of you in San Diego this November—and to hearing your ideas for how we can continue to advance our shared mission in 2026 and beyond.

Warmly,

Jenna Abbott
Executive Director
California Council for Affordable Housing
