In addition to serving two terms as California’s Lieutenant Governor, Kounalakis chaired boards overseeing public university systems and state lands, and brought diplomatic and fiscal experience from her tenure as U.S. Ambassador to Hungary. She echoed member strong support of the work done by the Treasurer’s staff and confirmed a desire to see those functions continue to be housed inside that Constitutional Office.
