In California, the need for affordable housing has never been more urgent—and neither has the need for strong, coordinated advocacy. Every day, decisions are made in Sacramento and in local jurisdictions that affect how, where, and whether affordable housing gets built. That’s why the work we do at the California Council for Affordable Housing (CCAH) is so critical—and why your membership matters.
CCAH is more than a trade association. We are a unified voice for the affordable rental housing industry, working to shape legislation, influence regulations, and educate policymakers on the realities of building and preserving affordable homes. From our work to make the early repayment of HCD loans possible, to advocacy around prevailing wage exemptions to streamlining approvals, our advocacy helps remove barriers for our members and create opportunities for the communities they serve.
But advocacy doesn’t happen in a vacuum. It requires engaged members, real-world expertise, and a shared commitment to housing equity. Whether you are a new developer building your first project, a seasoned developer with hundreds of units in your portfolio, an apartment management company, an architect, a GC, a syndicator, a law firm, an accounting firm or any one of the other organizations in the affordable housing ecosystem, when you join CCAH, you’re not just supporting a cause—you’re becoming part of a movement.
As you begin planning your 2026 budget, I encourage you to prioritize your CCAH membership. We have three tiers of membership, each designed to support your company as you grow and thrive. You can learn about them here. Membership gives your entire organization access to:
- Timely policy updates and legislative alerts
- Opportunities to shape our advocacy agenda
- Discounted registration for our conferences and events
- Networking with developers, lenders, attorneys, and public agencies
- Visibility as a leader in California’s affordable housing sector
Your membership helps fund our advocacy work, our events, and our ability to respond quickly to emerging challenges. It’s an investment in your work—and in the future of affordable housing across the state.
As you budget for the year ahead, don’t forget to include CCAH’s signature conferences. Pricing for conferences is on a date-based sliding scale with our members always receiving the best rates. This year, early bird member rate launched at $650. With that said, save the dates for our:
- Spring Conference – June 8-10, 2026
- Fall Conference – Dates and Location to be announced soon
These conferences are more than professional gatherings—they’re where policy meets practice, and where our community comes together to learn, collaborate, and lead.
Affordable housing is about more than buildings—it’s about stability, opportunity, and dignity. Through advocacy, education, and connection, CCAH helps make that vision a reality. Thank you for being part of this work. Let’s keep building—together.
