CCAH Endorses ‘Building an Affordable California’ Act

The California Council for Affordable Housing joins a broad and growing coalition of housing advocates, legislative leaders, clean energy advocates, health care providers, water providers, agricultural groups, and dozens of business organizations, in supporting and endorsing the California Chamber of Commerce’s ballot measure to reduce California’s high cost of living by cutting red tape and building housing and other essential projects faster and more affordably. The Building an Affordable California Act is a ballot measure on track to qualify for the November 2026 ballot that would update California’s project approval and permitting systems for essential developments, such as housing, water infrastructure, clean energy facilities, transportation projects, hospitals and health centers, schools, broadband expansion, and wildfire prevention and resilience initiatives, by setting clear timelines, strengthening accountability, and minimizing unnecessary delays, all while maintaining strong environmental, labor, and tribal cultural resource protections.
