Governor Newsom Appoints Anthony Sertich Executive Director of CalHFA

The California Council for Affordable Housing (CCAH) extends its warmest congratulations to Anthony “Tony” Sertich on his recent appointment by Governor Gavin Newsom as Executive Director of the California Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA).

Tony brings a wealth of experience and deep institutional knowledge to this role, having served in numerous leadership positions in state government over nearly two decades. His background includes roles in enterprise risk management, multifamily programs, and mortgage finance, as well as recent service as Assistant Deputy Director of Multifamily Lending at the California Department of Housing and Community Development.

Tony’s appointment comes at a critical time for affordable housing in California. His leadership, expertise, and commitment to housing equity will be instrumental in advancing CalHFA’s mission and supporting the development of safe, affordable homes for Californians across the state.

We look forward to working closely with Tony and the CalHFA team to address the challenges ahead and to continue building strong partnerships that support affordable housing production and preservation.
