Paul’s Policy Prospectus – November 3, 2026

Election Day has finally arrived, and I could not be more excited!

This election cycle has been the most politically active season in CCAH’s nearly 50-year history. With numerous legislative races featuring term-limited incumbents, we have had a unique opportunity to build relationships with a new generation of policymakers and engage meaningfully in shaping the future of affordable housing advocacy in California.

In addition to our work with legislative candidates, CCAH has played a visible role in several important statewide ballot measure campaigns. Our organization has served as a key voice and spokesperson on measures including Propositions 1, 40, and 45, helping educate stakeholders and elevate the conversation around issues that directly impact the communities we serve.

As results begin to come in, we will be watching closely, not only for the outcome of the races we have engaged in, but also for what the results mean for the future of affordable housing policy across the state.

A major reason for our success this cycle has been the dedication of our PAC Steering Committee. Their leadership and strategic direction helped us develop a comprehensive voter guide highlighting the most important legislative races and ballot measures affecting affordable housing. The goal was simple: help elect champions of affordable housing and support policies that advance our mission and strengthen our communities.

For those interested in learning more about CCAH’s advocacy efforts and political engagement, we invite you to join us at our PAC Reception during the Fall Conference in San Diego. The reception will take place on November 11 at 7:00 p.m. and will provide an opportunity to meet members of the PAC Steering Committee, learn more about our work, and discuss the important role advocacy plays in advancing affordable housing priorities throughout California. An RSVP link can be found here.

Of course, this work does not happen on its own. Building relationships with policymakers, supporting candidates who understand the importance of affordable housing, and amplifying our industry’s voice throughout the state all require resources. The investments made through our PAC help ensure that CCAH remains an effective advocate for our members and the communities they serve. As we look ahead to the next legislative session and election cycle, continued support will be critical to maintaining and expanding that influence.

Today, we celebrate the tremendous work that has gone into this historic election season and look forward to seeing the results. Thank you to everyone who contributed their time, expertise, and support to make this our most impactful political cycle yet.
