Successful Affordable Housing Tours with Legislature

Last week, CCAH hosted affordable housing property tours for members of the Legislature and their staff. We were honored to co-host with West Sacramento State Senator Christopher Cabaldon and were joined by Senator Anna Caballero, Assemblymember Carrillo, and staff from six additional legislative offices, as well as the Treasurer’s Office.

The tours highlighted two member projects. With support from Erin Autry Montgomery, we visited Chelsea Investment Corporation’s Vista Del Robles in Woodland, where she provided an in-depth overview of the complex financing structures behind affordable housing developments. Attendees also toured completed units, offering a firsthand look at a lived-in property.

Amid growing interest and proposed legislation around modular housing, we also toured a Sacramento project developed by Danco in partnership with Redstone Equity and Pacific Companies. Chris Dart and Jayden Johnson explained the modular development process and how it differs from traditional construction. Autovol Volumetric representatives Michael Merle and Rick Murdock also discussed the challenges of manufacturing and transporting modular components across state lines.

These tours provided a valuable opportunity for CCAH to showcase its members’ work and demonstrate the critical role affordable housing plays to state decision-makers.
