CCAH is pleased to welcome Brandon Hodge of Lincoln Avenue Communities and Chris Neale of The Core Companies to the Board of Directors. Both bring extensive experience in affordable housing development and a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing communities across California.
Brandon Hodge serves as Vice President and Project Partner for Lincoln Avenue Communities (LAC). In that capacity, Hodge is responsible for sourcing, acquiring, and developing affordable housing. As Project Partner, he oversees the development efforts in California, including acquisition, preservation, and development opportunities from conception through stabilization. A veteran of the field, he has completed a variety of complex transactions including the new construction, acquisition, and preservation of over 3,500 affordable units. Under Hodge’s leadership, LAC has added over 1,200 affordable units to the portfolio and created a pipeline of over $350M of new construction, acquisition/rehab, and preservation opportunities slated to close in 2026. Lincoln Avenue Communities is recognized for national affordable housing development, LIHTC expertise, and innovative models such as build-to-rent communities designed for working families.
As President of The Core Companies, a leading real estate development, management, and construction firm, Chris Neale is responsible for all development activities, including acquisition, entitlement, financing, and construction. Chris brings more than 20 years of experience to building housing throughout the Bay Area and has led Core’s growth from a small, family-run company into one of the leading multi-family housing developers in the Bay Area. Core has delivered 39 projects totaling approximately $780 million. During his career, Chris has overseen a broad range of complex projects across the state including an affordable housing project with an urban farm in Santa Clara, a mixed-use transit-oriented development in San Jose, and a veterans housing project in West Los Angeles in partnership with the VA.
“Brandon and Chris each bring a level of vision, technical expertise, and real-world development experience that directly strengthens CCAH’s leadership at a critical moment for affordable housing in California.” said Jenna Abbott, Executive Director of CCAH. “Their deep knowledge of financing, entitlements, and community-driven design makes our board even stronger as we work to expand housing access and advocate for policies that truly serve Californians. We are thrilled to welcome them both to the CCAH Board of Directors.”
