As we get closer to our Fall Conference at Paradise Point, I continue to be impressed by the quality of the program our planning committee has assembled. This year’s agenda is designed to tackle the most important issues facing affordable housing professionals today, bringing together agency leadership, industry experts, investors, lenders, syndicators, policymakers, and practitioners for two days of substantive discussion and practical insight.
Wednesday November 11, please join us for our welcome reception, generously sponsored by PGIM and the Northern California Chapter of the Womens Affordable Housing Network. We’ll kick off Thursday morning with a State Agency Update featuring leadership from HCD, CalHFA, CTCAC/CDLAC, and HDFC to discuss funding opportunities, program priorities, coordination among agencies, and what can be done to create a more predictable and effective affordable housing delivery system.
From there, we’ll dive into some of the most pressing financing and investment topics in our industry, including the rapidly evolving market for GP interest sales, current conditions in the LIHTC equity market, and the outlook for debt financing as developers continue to navigate interest rate uncertainty, capital market shifts, and project feasibility challenges.
Our afternoon sessions will examine how resident services can improve both resident outcomes and property performance, and we’ll close the day with a federal and state legislative update focused on the policy developments that will shape affordable housing in California and Washington, D.C. For property owners and managers, we’ve also built a dedicated breakout session exploring how development, design, and operational decisions can work together to create stronger communities and better long-term financial outcomes.
The conference concludes Friday with our Policy Roundtable, where members will have the opportunity to engage directly with CCAH staff, legislative advocates, and policy committee leaders on the issues and proposals shaping our advocacy agenda. Attendees can also participate in our affordable housing project tour showcasing several San Diego developments and the innovative work being done throughout the region.
And, of course, there is still one major agenda item we hope to announce soon. We are actively working to secure a very special keynote speaker and are hopeful we’ll have confirmation within the next week or so. Let’s just say that if things on November 3rd unfold the way many observers expect and our plan works out, our invited keynote guest may arrive in San Diego with a brand-new title and a very busy transition team. Stay tuned.
Finally, I hope you’ll join me on Wednesday evening, November 11, immediately following the Welcome Reception, for our inaugural CCAH PAC Fundraiser and Reception. This special event will bring together members of our PAC Steering Committee, industry leaders, elected officials, and legislative leaders for an evening supporting the work of the CCAH Political Action Committee. Tickets are just $150, and 100% of the proceeds support the PAC’s efforts to advance policies and elect leaders who understand the importance of affordable housing in California. Please note that you do not need to be registered for or attending the conference to attend the PAC Reception. The event is separately ticketed and open to anyone who would like to support the CCAH PAC and spend an evening with colleagues, policymakers, and affordable housing advocates. If you have associates, business partners, clients, or colleagues who may not be attending the conference but care about affordable housing policy, we encourage them to join us. You can RSVP here and pay for your ticket here.
The conference is on track to sell out, the agenda is stronger than ever, and we have a few exciting surprises still to come. I look forward to seeing you in San Diego.
In partnership,
Executive Director, California Council for Affordable Housing
