Lt. Governor Eleni Kounalakis to Deliver Keynote at CCAH Fall Conference, November 6, 2025, in San Diego

Sacramento, CA – October 10, 2025 – The California Council for Affordable Housing (CCAH) is thrilled to announce that California Lt. Governor Eleni Kounalakis will serve as the keynote speaker at the upcoming CCAH Fall Conference. The conference is to be held at the Paradise Point Resort & Conference Center in San Diego November 5-7, 2025.

Lt. Governor Kounalakis will deliver her keynote address, opening the conference, on November 6 over breakfast with attendees.

Before entering public office, Kounalakis served as President of AKT Development, one of California’s most respected housing firms, where she helped deliver quality housing to working families across the Sacramento region. Her earlier diplomatic service as U.S. Ambassador to Hungary under President Obama further shaped her global perspective on democracy and economic development.

Lieutenant Governor Kounalakis made history as the first woman elected to the office and has served California with distinction since 2019. She also represents the state in International Affairs and Trade, appointed by Governor Gavin Newsom. Her leadership spans diplomacy, housing development, and economic strategy – making her an ideal voice for our affordable housing community.

“We are thrilled to welcome Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis to speak at our Fall Conference,” said Jenna Abbott, Executive Director of CCAH. “Her deep roots in housing development, her commitment to public service, and her bold leadership make her an inspiring presence for our members.

As CCAH’s preferred candidate for California State Treasurer, we are especially excited to hear her vision for the state’s financial future and its impact on housing. Join us in San Diego to hear from one of California’s most dynamic leaders as we explore the future of affordable housing together.”

The Fall Conference kicks off with the 5:30 pm welcome reception on November 5 which will be followed by a fundraiser hosted by the CCAH Political Action Committee. A series of educational sessions and panel discussions designed to support attendees in the business of affordable housing takes place on November 6. Following the final session at 5 pm, attendees are invited to gather and network at Tidal Restaurant for a hosted reception. The conference concludes on November 7 with a policy round table in the morning and optional property tours.

The CCAH Fall Conference brings together housing professionals, developers, lenders, tax syndicators, housing advocates, and policymakers to collaborate on innovative solutions to solve California’s housing crisis. This year’s event promises dynamic panels, networking opportunities, and actionable strategies for advancing affordable housing statewide.
